Review - LANGUAGE OF SOULS by Lena Goldfinch
Hi all!
I'm just thrilled to be part of Lena Goldfinch's blog tour, where I review not one but THREE of her awesome titles! First up: The Language of Souls. And guess what, this one was my favorite.
To save her sick grandfather, Solena does the unthinkable: she enters the inhospitable land of Oden, where those of Torrani descent are punished just for being themselves, all to find a certain herb. After walking for many cold days, and colder nights, Solena happens upon and orchard and picks a few plums. She is spotted by a soldier, who captures her and hauls her back to his camp.
That soldier is Rundan, son of the commander and a man most ill-suited for life in the army. He longed for the life of a scholar, but that would have meant disappointing his father. When his father orders him to take Solena to the palace for punishment, he makes the only choice he can, and decides to see her to safety.
THE LANGUAGE OF SOULS is a wonderful, heartwarming read, and proves yet again that love blossoms where is may, not necessarily where it's convenient.
